# The Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme 1983, Article 53: Interpretation of Part VI


In this Part of this Scheme, unless the context otherwise requires, the expression “pension” means any pension, allowance or other benefit under this Scheme (other than a funeral grant) and includes a lump sum awarded under Article 72, and the expression “funeral grant” means a funeral grant under Article 40.
