# The Pesticides (Amendment) Regulations 2019, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 31st October 2019
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated for the purposes of that section in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Union, the environment, and measures in the veterinary and phytosanitary fields for the protection of public health.
