# Physical Training and Recreation Act 1937, Section 9: Interpretation.


In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—
“local authority” means the council of a county, county borough, London borough, district or parish, and the common council of the city of London and The Greater London Council;
“voluntary organisation” means any person or body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporate, carrying on, or proposing to carry on, an undertaking otherwise than for profit.
