# The Pipelines Safety Regulations 1996, Paragraph 7

Extent: E+W+S

After an emergency shut-down valve has operated so as to block the flow of fluid within the pipeline it shall not be re-opened so as to permit the flow of fluid until steps have been taken to ensure that it is safe to do so.
