These Rules amend the Planning (Inquiry Procedure) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2006 which provide procedures to be followed in connection with inquiries required to be held under Article 123B of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991.

The Rules amend the definition of “electronic communication” to accord with the current definition provided by section 4 of the Electronic Communications Act (Northern Ireland) 2001 which was amended by the Communications Act 2003 (c. 21).
