# The Police Act 1997 Amendment (Scotland) Order 2006, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 7th February 2006
The Scottish Ministers in exercise of the powers conferred by section 173(1)(a) and 173(5)(b)(ii) and (iii) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005, hereby make the following Order, a draft of which has, in accordance with section 172(8) of that Act, been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament:
