# The Police (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 1990, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations further amend the Police Regulations 1987. Regulation 3(2) amends the provision for officers below the rank of superintendent who perform the duties of an officer of a higher rank to receive enhanced pay accordingly, and takes effect on 1st February 1991. Regulation 3(3) increases pay and regulation 3(4) increases the dog handler’s allowance, both with effect from 1st September 1990 (retrospection is authorized by section 33(4) of the Police Act 1964).
