# The Police (Amendment) Regulations 1996, Introduction: Introductory text


POLICE
Made 7th March 1996
Laid before Parliament 18th March 1996
Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(3)
The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 of the Police Act 1964, and after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board and the Police Advisory Board for England and Wales with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980 and section 46(3) of the Police Act 1964, hereby makes the following Regulations:
