  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Police Regulations 2003 (“the 2003 Regulations”). Regulation 4 increases the periods of maternity and adoption leave to be taken into account in reckoning the length of service of a member of a police force, for the purposes of determining the member’s pay.\nRegulation 6 adds provision for the reckoning of service of a person who served in the National Crime Squad or National Criminal Intelligence Service and from there joined the Serious Organised Crime Agency (“SOCA”) on its creation, before joining or rejoining a police force.\nRegulation 7 adds provision in relation to the entitlement of such a person, and of a person who rejoins a police force following medical retirement, to a replacement allowance under the 2003 Regulations.",
