  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Police Regulations 2003 (“the 2003 Regulations”) to permit individuals to join the police force at the rank of superintendent as part of the Direct Entry (Superintendent) Programme and to permit those taking part in the Fast Track Programme to be promoted more quickly from the rank of constable to inspector.\nRegulation 10 of the 2003 Regulations is amended to add passing the assessment centres for participation in the Direct Entry (Superintendent) Programme and the Constable to Inspector Fast Track Programme as qualifications for appointment to a police force. Regulations 12 and 13 are amended to allow a DE superintendent to be on probation and to be discharged during probation if unsuitable.\nA full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen.",
