  "text": "These Regulations amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979 with effect, as provided by Regulation 2, from the dates mentioned below.\nRegulation 4 amends Regulation 42 of the 1979 Regulations, with effect from 6th April 1983, in respect of the benefits which are deductible from pay as a consequence of the coming into operation of the Social Security and Housing Benefits Act 1982. References to injury benefit and earnings related supplement are omitted and a reference to statutory sick pay under the 1982 Act is added.\nRegulation 5 increases the pay of cadets in London with effect from 1st September 1982. Retrospection is authorised by section 33(4) of the Police Act 1964.",
