  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979 with effect, save as otherwise provided, from 16th November 1987.\nRegulation 3(a) and (c) increase the pay of cadets from 1st September 1986 to31st August 1987 and, again, from 1st September 1987 (retrospective effect is authorisedby section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964).\nRegulation 3(b) increases the maximum and minimum levels of travel allowance payable to cadets.\nRegulation 3(d) increases charges payable by cadets for board and lodging provided by police authorities.",
