Article 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

This Order may be cited as the Police Grant (Scotland) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 31st March 1998.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires–

  • “the Act” means the Police (Scotland) Act 1967;

  • “authority” means a police authority (not being a constituent authority) or a joint police board;

  • “financial year 1997-98” means the period of 12 months commencing on 1st April 1997;

  • “police grant” means the grant made under section 32(1) of the Act.
