  "text": "If the amount of the pension calculated in accordance with the preceding paragraph would be less than the amount it would have been had the person in question become entitled to receive an ordinary pension by retiring after due notice from the same police force at an earlier date, then, subject to Parts VII and VIII of this Schedule, the pension shall be of the last-mentioned amount.",
