# The Police (Promotion)(Amendment) Regulations 2008, Regulation 2: Amendment to the Police (Promotion) Regulations 1996


(1) The Police (Promotion) Regulations 1996 are amended in accordance with these Regulations.
(2) In paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 1, insert “(1B),” after “sub-paragraphs”.
(3) In paragraph 5(1A) of Schedule 1, insert “(1B),” after “sub-paragraphs”.
(4) After paragraph 5(1A) of Schedule 1, insert-
“(1B) A constable who is participating in the HPD Scheme is eligible to take Part I of the qualifying assessment for promotion to the rank of sergeant.”
