# The Police Regulations 1987, Regulation 54: Uniform allowance


A member of a police force of or above the rank of inspector who does duty in uniform but is not supplied with uniform by the police authority shall be paid in lieu a uniform allowance at a rate calculated to cover the cost of supplying and maintaining the required uniform.
