  "text": "(1) Subject as hereinafter provided, a dog handler’s allowance shall be payable—\n(a) in the case of a constable, at the annual rate of £957;\n(b) in any other case, at the annual rate of £1,308.\n(2) Where the member keeps and cares for at his home more than one dog owned by the police authority, the annual rate of the allowance shall be multiplied by the number of such dogs so kept and cared for.",
