# The Police (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2009, Regulation 3: Amendment of the Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Regulations 2008


(1) The Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2(1) (interpretation) in the definition of “inquiry officer” for “regulation 20” substitute “regulation 19”.
(3) In regulation 8 (retirement)—
(a) in paragraph (2) after “Subject to” insert “paragraph (3) and”; and
(b) after paragraph (2) insert—
“(3) The chief constable may postone the time at which a special constable must retire under paragraph (2).”.
