Paragraph 1

In rule 17 (Medical attendance), the following shall be substituted for paragraph (3)—

“(3)

The medical officer may consult a medical practitioner who is a fully registered person within the meaning of the Medical Act 1983^f1. Such a practitioner may work within the prison under the general supervision of the medical officer.

(3A)

The medical officer shall consult another medical practitioner, if time permits, before performing any serious operation.”.
