# Private Security Industry Act 2001, Paragraph 1: Membership and chairman

Extent: E+W+S

(1) The Authority shall consist of such number of members as the Secretary of State may determine.
(2) The appointment of a person to be a member shall be made by the Secretary of State.
(3) The Secretary of State shall appoint one of the members of the Authority to be its chairman.
(4) Before appointing the chairman, the Secretary of State shall consult the Scottish Ministers and the Department of Justice.
