# The Progress Power (Gas Fired Power Station) Order 2015, Paragraph 19: European protected species

Extent: E+W

(1) No part of the authorised development shall commence until further supplemental survey work identified in the ecological management strategy and ecological management plan for European protected species has been carried out covering that numbered work to establish whether European protected species are present.
(2) Where a European protected species is shown to be present, no authorised development of that numbered work may be begun until, after consultation with Natural England, a scheme of protection and mitigation measures has been submitted to and approved by the relevant planning authority and the authorised development must be carried out in accordance with the approved scheme.
(3) “European protected species” has the same meaning as in regulations 42 and 46 of the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.
