# The Proscribed Organisations (Name Changes) Order 2006, Introduction: Introductory text


PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION OF TERRORISM
Made 14th July 2006
Laid before Parliament 17th July 2006
Coming into force 14th August 2006
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3(6) of the Terrorism Act 2000.
In accordance with section 3(6)(a) of that Act, the Secretary of State believes that the organisation referred to in article 2(1) of the following Order, being an organisation listed in Schedule 2 to that Act, is operating wholly or partly under names that are not specified in that Schedule (whether as well as or instead of under the specified name).
