# The Public Telecommunication System Designation (Alpha Telecom Limited) Order 1999, Introduction: Introductory text


TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Made 9th June 1999
Laid before Parliament 14th June 1999
Coming into force 13th July 1999
Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to Alpha Telecom Limited on 13th October 1998 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of the telecommunication systems specified in the Licence (“the Applicable Systems”):
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:–
