# The Public Telecommunication System Designation (Nextlink UK Limited) Order 2001, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 12th July 2001
Laid before Parliament 18th July 2001
Coming into force 16th August 2001
Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to Nextlink UK Limited on 5th January 2001 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of the telecommunication systems specified in the Licence (“the Applicable Systems”):
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:—
