# The Public Telecommunication System Designation (VersaTel Telecom BV) Order 1998, Introduction: Introductory text


TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Made 3rd December 1998
Laid before Parliament 9th December 1998
Coming into force 7th January 1999
Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to VersaTel Telecom BVon 15th June 1998 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of the telecommunication systems specified in the Licence (“the Applicable Systems”):
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:–
