  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations, which apply to Great Britain, implement Council Directive 89/108/ EEC (OJ No. L40, 11.2.89, p.34) on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to quick-frozen foodstuffs for human consumption.\nThe Regulations—\n(a) define a quick-frozen foodstuff (Regulation 2),\n(b) list the conditions which must be fulfilled by a quick-frozen foodstuff for it to be sold for human consumption (Regulation 3 and the Schedule),\n(c) lay down the packaging requirements for a quick-frozen foodstuff (Regulation 4),\n(d) lay down the labelling requirements for a quick-frozen foodstuff (Regulation 5),\n(e) lay down requirements for the standards of equipment which must be used by those who have care and control of a quick-frozen foodstuff at any stage in its life from manufacture to retail sale (Regulation 6).\nThe Regulations come into force on the 10th January 1991.",
