# The Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations 1998, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid 9th October 1998
Coming into force 1st November 1998
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46(1), (2) and (5) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and after consultation with the Disabled Persons Tranport Advisory Committee and such other representative organisations as he thought fit in accordance with section 46(11) of the said Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
