# The Railway Heritage Scheme Order 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 12th February 1997
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 of the Railway Heritage Act 1996 (“the Act”), and after consultation with the British Railways Board and such other persons as the Secretary of State considered appropriate in accordance with section 2(3) of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:—
