# The Railways Regulations 1998, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 5th June 1998
Coming into force 27th June 1998
The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to measures relating to railways and railway transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section hereby makes the following Regulations:—
