# The Redundant Mineworkers (Payments Scheme) Order 1972, Article 3: Application of the Scheme


The Scheme set out in the Schedule to this Order shall apply to the classes of persons prescribed therein, being persons who at any time between 25th March 1972 and 31st March 1974—
(a) were employed at a coal mine or at any place of a class prescribed in the Scheme; and
(b) became redundant within the meaning of the Scheme after attaining the age of 55 and before attaining the age of 65 in the case of men or 60 in the case of women.
