# The Registered Designs (Fees) Rules 1990, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 20th August 1990
Coming into force 10th September 1990
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 36, 40 and 44(1) of the Registered Designs Act 1949, of the power conferred upon him by the Department of Trade and Industry (Fees) Order 1988, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation with the Council on Tribunals pursuant to section 10(1) of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1971 and with the consent of the Treasury pursuant to the said section 40, hereby makes the following Rules:–
