  "heading": "Citation, commencement and extent",
  "text": "(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Marriages (Amendment) Regulations 2021.\n(2) Except as provided by paragraph (3), these Regulations come into force on 4th May 2021.\n(3) The following provisions of these Regulations come into force on 19th April 2021—\n(a) this regulation and regulation 2;\n(b) regulation 3(a)(ii), so far as it inserts a definition of “step-parent” in regulation 2(1) of the Registration of Marriages Regulations 2015;\n(c) regulation 3(b);\n(d) regulation 4;\n(e) regulation 5, so far as it inserts regulations 9A, 9B and 9C in the Registration of Marriages Regulations 2015;\n(f) regulations 7 and 8;\n(g) regulation 11(1), (2)(a), (c) and (d), (8), (11) and (13);\n(h) regulation 12;\n(i) Part 2 of the Schedule.\n(4) Except as provided by paragraph (5), these Regulations extend to England and Wales only.\n(5) The following provisions of these Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland—\n(a) this regulation;\n(b) regulation 2;\n(c) regulation 5, so far as it inserts regulation 9D in the Registration of Marriages Regulations 2015;\n(d) regulation 11(2)(b) and (9);\n(e) Part 1 of the Schedule, so far as it sets out forms 12 and 12(w) and the headings preceding those forms.",
