# The Renewables Obligation (Amendment) Regulations 2017, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to energy and energy sources, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act:
