Explanatory note

These Regulations amend the Residential Care Homes Regulations 1984.
They increase the registration fees payable on applications in respect of non-controlling managers of homes from £210 to £230 and on applications in respect of persons in control of homes from £770 to £840 and revoke regulation 3(2) of the 1984 Regulations which makes separate provision for applications on changes of ownership.
They increase the annual fee payable in respect of each person in the home, from £37 to £41.
They revoke earlier provisions of regulations (superseded by these Regulations) which laid down the amounts of the registration fees and the annual fee.
