# The Return of Cultural Objects Regulations 1994, Regulation 2: Interpretation

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

(1) In these Regulations “the Directive” means Directive 2014/60/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014 on the return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a Member State and amending Regulation (EU) No 1024/2012 (Recast).
(2) Expressions used in these Regulations and in the Directive have the same meaning as in the Directive and accordingly expressions to which a meaning is assigned by Article 2 of the Directive have that meaning.
