# The Riot Compensation Regulations 2017, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(4), 3, 4(2) and (3), 8(4) to (7), 9 and 11(4)(d) of the Riot Compensation Act 2016:
