# The Riot Compensation Regulations 2017, Regulation 17: Fraud

Extent: E+W

An Authority may refuse a section 1 claim if the Authority believes that the claim, any other section 1 claim made by the claimant or, in the case of an insurer claim, the related claim against the insurer claimant is fraudulent (to any extent).
