# The Road Vehicles (Approval) (Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2009, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 29th April 2009
The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 ;
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of that Act for the regulation of the type, description, construction or equipment of vehicles, and of components of vehicles, and in particular any vehicle type approval scheme.
