# The Road Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 2020, Paragraph 10

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

For the purpose of determining whether a multi-purpose vehicle falls into category M1 or N, if the manufacturer so requests a vehicle which has—
(a) 4 or more seats,
(b) a load area not exceeding 40% of its length, and
(c) a maximum technically permissible mass not exceeding 6500kg,
may be categorised as M1.
