  "text": "1 Number:\nTwo visible from the front and two visible from the rear\n2 Position–\n(a) Longitudinal:\nNo requirement\n(b) Lateral–\n(i) Maximum distance from the side of the vehicle:\n400 mm\n(ii) Minimum separation distance between a pair of end-outline marker lamps:\nNo requirement\n(c) Vertical–\n(i) At the front of a motor vehicle:\nThe horizontal plane tangential to the upper edge of the illuminated area of the lamp shall not be lower than the horizontal plane tangential to the upper edge of the transparent zone of the windscreen\n(ii) At the front of a trailer and at the rear of any vehicle:\nAt the maximum height compatible with:\nthe requirements relating to the lateral position and to being a pair, and\nthe use for which the vehicle is constructed\n3 Angles of visibility–\n(a) Horizontal:\n0° inwards and 80° outwards\n(b) Vertical:\n5° above and 20° below the horizontal\n4 Alignment:\nSuch that white light is shown towards the front and red light is shown towards the rear\n5 Markings:\nAn approval mark\n6 Size of illuminated area:\nNo requirement\n7 Colour:\nWhite towards the front and red towards the rear\n8 Wattage:\nNo requirement\n9 Intensity:\nNo requirement\n10 Electrical connections:\nNo individual requirement\n11 Tell-tale:\nNo requirement",
