  "text": "1 Number–\n(a) Any vehicle not covered by sub-paragraph (b):\nNo requirement\n(b) A motor vehicle, other than a motor bicycle or motor bicycle combination, first used on or after 1st April 1991:\nNot more than two\n2 Position–\n(a) Longitudinal:\nNo requirement\n(b) Lateral–\n(i) Where a pair of front fog lamps is used in conditions of seriously reduced visibility in place of the obligatory dipped beam headlamps–\nMaximum distance from side of vehicle:\n400 mm\n(ii) in all other cases:\nNo requirement\n(c) Vertical–\n(i) Maximum height above the ground–\n(A) Any vehicle not covered by sub-paragraph (B):\n1200 mm\n(B) An agricultural vehicle, a road clearance vehicle, an aerodrome fire tender, an aerodrome runway sweeper, an industrial tractor, engineering plant and a home forces' vehicle:\nNo requirement\n(ii) Minimum height above the ground:\nNo requirement\n3 Angles of visibility:\nNo requirement\n4 Alignment:\nTo the front and so aimed that the upper edge of the beam is, as near as practicable, 3 per cent below the horizontal when the vehicle is at its kerbside weight and has a weight of 75 kg on the driver’s seat\n5 Markings–\n(a) A vehicle first used on or after 1st April 1986:\nAn approval mark\n(b) A vehicle first used before 1st April 1986:\nNo requirement\n6 Size of illuminated area:\nNo requirement\n7 Colour:\nWhite or yellow\n8 Wattage:\nNo requirement\n9 Intensity:\nNo requirement\n10 Electrical connections:\nNo individual requirement\n11 Tell-tale:\nNo requirement",
