  "text": "These Rules amend the Rules of the Supreme Court so as:—\n(1) to make provision for the addition or substitution of a party after the expiry of a period of limitation (rule 2);\n(2) to enlarge the power to allow amendments as to the capacity in which a party sues (rule 3); and\n(3) to enable a master or other judicial officer to make a direction under section 33 of the Limitation Act 1980 (rule 4).",
