# The School Companies Regulations 2002, Regulation 27: Duty to notify Secretary of State


A supervising authority must notify the Secretary of State, in writing within 28 days, of the following events:–
(a) changes to the company’s membership, name and registered number; and
(b) if it ceases to be a relevant local education authority.
