# The Scotch Whisky Regulations 2009, Regulation 15: Designation

In relation to Scotch Whisky, the Commissioners for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs are designated as a competent authority for the purpose of Article 24(1) of Regulation (EC) No 110/2008 in relation to the verification function imposed on them by regulation 5(1) of the Spirit Drinks Regulations 2008.
