  "heading": "Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 (c. 65)",
  "text": "(1) The Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 is amended as follows.\n(2) In section 82 (power of local authority to promote or oppose private legislation)–\n(a) in subsection (1), “ in Parliament” is omitted;\n(b) in subsection (2)(b), after the words “ fourteen days after” there is inserted “(i)” and after the words “the Act of 1936” there is inserted–\n“ ; or\n(ii) the Bill has been introduced in the Scottish Parliament”; and\n(c) in subsection (7), for the definition of “private legislation in Parliament” and “private legislation”, there is substituted–\n““private legislation” includes–\n(a) a provisional order and the confirmation Bill relating thereto under the Act of 1936;\n(b) any local or personal Bill in Parliament; and\n(c) any private Bill in the Scottish Parliament.”.\n(3) In Schedule 4 to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973–\n(a) in paragraphs 2(1), (2) and (3) and 4(2), “with the consent of the Treasury” is omitted;\n(b) in paragraph 2(3), “, with the consent aforesaid,” is omitted;\n(c) in paragraph 8(1), “, with the approval of the Treasury” is omitted;\n(d) in paragraph 8(3), “with the approval of the Treasury” is omitted;\n(e) in paragraph 8(4), “and of the Treasury,” is omitted; and\n(f) in paragraph 9, for “Parliament” there is substituted “the Scottish Ministers”.",
