# Scottish Elections (Reduction of Voting Age) Act 2015, Section 16: Voting age for proxies at local government elections


(1) In Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 2000 (absent voting), paragraph 6 (proxies at elections) is amended in accordance with this section.
(2) In sub-paragraph (5), after “election” insert “ (other than a local government election in Scotland) ”.
(3) After sub-paragraph (5) insert—
“(5A) A person is not capable of voting as proxy at a local government election in Scotland unless on the date of the election the person has attained the age of 16.”.
