# The Scottish Local Government Elections Amendment Order 2016, Article 1: Citation, commencement and transitional provision

Extent: S

(1) This Order may be cited as the Scottish Local Government Elections Amendment Order 2016 and comes into force on 1st March 2016.
(2) The amendments made by article 2 have no effect for the purposes of any local government election for which the date of poll is on or before 4th May 2016.
