# The Seafarers’ Wages Regulations 2024, Regulation 17: Calculation to determine whether the national minimum wage equivalent has been paid

In order to determine whether a seafarer has been paid at a rate which is at least equal to the national minimum wage equivalent, the seafarer’s remuneration for their hours of UK work is to be calculated by adding the basic rate, and the UK additional rate, applicable to them.
