body\nClasses of bodies to whom the designated body may grant permits\n1\nThe council of every non-metropolitan county established under section 1(2) of the Local Government Act 1972.\n(a) Bodies to whom the designated body may make grants under section 65 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.\n(b) Schools or bodies which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education Act 1944 with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or bodies.\n(b) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n2\nEvery Passenger Transport Executive established under section 9(1) of the Transport Act 1968.\nBodies which the designated body assists in pursuance of its duty under section 9A of the Transport Act 1968 with respect to the provision of public passenger transport services wholly or mainly to meet the transport needs of members of the public who are elderly or disabled.\n3\nThe council of every metropolitan district established under section 1(3) of the Local Government Act 1972.\n(a) Bodies to whom the designated body may make grants under section 65 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.\n(b) Schools or bodies which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education Act 1944 with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or bodies.\n(c) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n4\nThe council of every district in a non-metropolitan county established under section 1(4) of the Local Government Act 1972.\n(a) Bodies which operate wholly or mainly within the area of the council and whose purpose is to promote social welfare.\n(b) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n5\nThe council of every outer London borough established under the London Government Act 1963.\n(a) Bodies to whom the designated body may make grants under section 65 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.\n(b) Schools or bodies which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education Act 1944 with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or bodies.\n(b) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n6\nThe council of every inner London borough established under the London Government Act 1963.\n(a) Bodies to whom the designated body may make grants under section 65 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.\n(b) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n7\nThe Common Council of the City of London.\n(a) Bodies to whom the designated body may make grants under section 65 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968.\n(b) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n8\nThe Inner London Education Authority\nSchools or bodies which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education Act 1944 with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or bodies.\n9\nThe council of every region established under section 1(2) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.\n(a) Bodies connected with the fulfilment of any duty imposed on the designated body by the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968.\n(b) Schools or other educational establishments which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or educational establishments.\n(c) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community bodies within the area of the council.\n10\nThe council of every district established under section 1(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.\nCommunity councils within the area of the designated body.\n11\nThe council of each of the Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles islands areas.\n(a) Bodies connected with the fulfilment of any duty imposed on the designated body by the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968.\n(b) Schools or other educational establishments which fulfil the duty of the designated body under the Education (Scotland) Act 1980, with respect to the provision of education, and bodies connected with such schools or educational establishments.\n(c) Community councils within the area of the designated body.\n(d) Bodies which assist and co-ordinate activities of community
