# The Severn Bridges Regulations 1996, Introduction: Introductory text


HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES
Made 15th May 1996
Laid before Parliament 15th May 1996
Coming into force 5th June 1996
The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14, 21(1), (3) and (4), 24(1), 25(1) and 37(5) of the Severn Bridges Act 1992 and sections 17(2) and (3) and 99(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and in relation to the exercise of the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Regulations:—
